A beautiful old church overlooks the rooftops of Gudhjem and the ships’ masts. The old market town of Aakirkeby is located in the southern part of Bornholm, an ideal location for the island’s beaches. Here, you will find stunning Dueodde with its white, sandy beaches winding as far as the eye can see, but Balka Beach and Boderne also rank among Bornholm’s best beaches. Aakirkeby offers hi­sto­ri­cal buildings, museums, and cultural at­tra­ctions. If you move towards the middle of the island, you will get to Al­min­din­gen, Denmark’s fifth-largest forest. Spend several hours exploring the terrain and the hi­sto­ri­cal and cultural sights here, such as Ryt­ter­k­næg­ten and Ekkodalen.

Nykøbing Sjælland, the charming market town on the coast of Odsherred, offers a wonderful mix of cultural acti­vi­ties and nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces. Nykøbing Sjælland is known for its wealth of shopping options with lots of locally produced spe­ci­al­ties and cosy cafés that make the city ideal for an excursion while on holiday. For the ad­ven­tu­rous, a boat trip with the boat “Marianne F” is a must, and otherwise there is ample op­portu­ni­ty to rent bikes and explore the sur­ro­un­dings. The city’s public swimming pool and cinema provide en­tertain­ment re­gard­less of the weather, and the lively pe­de­stri­an street is perfect for shopping and re­laxa­tion during and in between the high seasons.
