The Great Belt Coast has one of Denmark’s most beautiful coast­li­nes. From north to south, you will find lovely beaches with fine sandy seafloors and clear water. There are no large waves or un­dercur­rents, making it safe for even the youngest ho­li­day­ma­kers to play by the water under su­per­vi­sion. The area attracts many water sports ent­hu­si­asts, as there is ample op­portu­ni­ty to explore on the water. Along the coast you will find several hiking trails where you can enjoy the views and the fresh sea breeze. You can also take a break at one of the area’s con­ve­ni­ent­ly located cafés and enjoy a well-deserved re­fres­h­ment.

Reersø is a small seaport on the peninsula of the same name, located on Northwest Zealand. The small seaport is charming and idyllic. Here you will find one half-timbered house after another along the town’s country roads. The houses are very well preserved, and several of them date back to the 1600s. In addition to the historic charm of the town, you can also explore the lush natural sur­ro­un­dings in these parts of Zealand. Along the coast, you can enjoy the view of the Great Belt, and try your luck with a fishing rod. Reersø is less than a 30-minute drive from Ka­lund­borg.

With several child-friendly sandy beaches stret­ching from Vig Lyng to Stenstrup Lyng, and exciting excur­sions, Sejerø Bugt is known to be a true gem for families with children. Dive into history by visiting the me­ga­lit­hic tomb in Stenstrup, a well-preserved tomb from ancient times, or explore the unique sand reefs of the Korevler, where you might see grazing Galloway cattle. The area also offers wonderful music ex­pe­ri­en­ces and local eateries, espe­ci­al­ly during the summer months. South of Skagen, you will find Kan­de­ste­der­ne, sur­ro­un­ded by tranqui­li­ty and pristine rugged nature. The area is known for its stunning dune landsca­pes and wide sandy beaches. This also makes Kan­de­ste­der­ne the perfect place for long walks and sun­bat­hing. Near Kan­de­ste­der­ne, you will find the im­pres­si­ve natural pheno­menon Råbjerg Mile, among the largest shifting dunes in Europe which is why it draws Danish and foreign ho­li­day­ma­kers alike. From Kan­de­ste­der­ne, you also have direct access to Skiveren Strand, a true paradise for kite surfers and nature ent­hu­si­asts. The wide beach is sur­ro­un­ded by dunes and has been awarded the Blue Flag cer­ti­fi­ca­tion.
