Sejerø is a 12 km long island in Kattegat. The island is known as Kattegat’s sunshine island – and for good reason. Sejerø is one of the sunniest places in Denmark. Here you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the shoreline. The nature of the island is diverse and offers eve­ryt­hing from beautiful sandy beaches and wide-open spaces to rolling hills and fields. Sejerø is espe­ci­al­ly known for its many burial mounds that date back to the Bronze Age. A total of 30 burial mounds have been di­scove­red on the island, and you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce them via several footpaths that take you around the landscape.

Spend your summer break in a holiday home in Sose, an oasis on the sunshine island. Cliffs rise ma­jesti­cal­ly from the water, forming a dramatic coastline adorned with charming red fishers’ houses. Sose Odde is on a small tongue stret­ching into the water with steep cliffs and wild natural sur­ro­un­dings. The pi­c­tu­resque landscape is great for long walks. Whether you choose to walk on the beach or on top of the cliffs, the expansive views are bre­ath­taking. The cosy, old fishing village of Arnager is close by and worth a visit. The village has a great maritime at­mosp­he­re and beautiful sunsets.

On the east coast of Northern Jutland, you will find the village of Hel­ber­skov. The little village is espe­ci­al­ly charming due to its old half-timbered houses and idyllic village at­mosp­he­re. In the area, you will find farm shops nearby where you can buy local spe­ci­a­li­ties and fresh produce. When ho­li­daying in a summer cottage in Hel­ber­skov, you will have beautiful scenery, green areas and beaches at the fjord right outside your door. The village is the perfect holiday desti­na­tion for those into splashing in the water, hiking and sheer re­laxa­tion. Here time stands a little still for you to enjoy the tranqui­li­ty and the pi­c­tu­resque sur­ro­un­dings un­dis­tur­bed.

Havnsø is a seaport on Northwest Zealand. Here you can enjoy life on the beach, which, with its low water, is perfect for water play for people of all ages. Just under 5 km from Havnsø you will find the protected natural area of Eskebjerg Ve­ster­lyng. Known as Zealand’s largest heath, the natural area offers rolling landsca­pes with beaches, dunes and shrubs – and, with any luck, you might also see free-range cattle and horses. From Havnsø you can also enjoy the view of Nekselø Bay, and if you look carefully, you can see Nekselø and Sejerø in the distance. Both islands can be reached by ferry from Havnsø.
