Nykøbing Sjælland, the charming market town on the coast of Odsherred, offers a wonderful mix of cultural acti­vi­ties and nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces. Nykøbing Sjælland is known for its wealth of shopping options with lots of locally produced spe­ci­al­ties and cosy cafés that make the city ideal for an excursion while on holiday. For the ad­ven­tu­rous, a boat trip with the boat “Marianne F” is a must, and otherwise there is ample op­portu­ni­ty to rent bikes and explore the sur­ro­un­dings. The city’s public swimming pool and cinema provide en­tertain­ment re­gard­less of the weather, and the lively pe­de­stri­an street is perfect for shopping and re­laxa­tion during and in between the high seasons.

South of Aarhus you will find the holiday home area, Mariendal Strand. Near the area is the beach, which is sur­ro­un­ded by natural sur­ro­un­dings and has a cosy fire pit. Here you can enjoy views of Aarhus Bay while roasting mars­h­mal­lows over an open fire with your feet planted in the fine sand. If you like biking, you can cycle towards Aarhus to the forests of Moesgaard and Mar­se­lis­borg, which stretch all the way down to the coast. And when visiting this area, you might want to visit the Moesgaard Museum, which has several exhi­bi­tions of ar­cha­e­o­lo­gi­cal finds, including the Grauballe Man, who - probably - is the world’s most well-preserved bog body.

A little inland, sur­ro­un­ded by tall trees and lush forest areas, you will find the quaint town of Houstrup. Here you can enjoy a lovely holiday home break in the deep tranqui­li­ty of the forest and spend your time doing anything you like. Maybe you love the water and want to battle the waves of the North Sea, or perhaps you enjoy cycling and want to ex­pe­ri­en­ce the local area at your own pace? Here you set the pace and the agenda, and you decide whether you want to go on an excursion, relax by the beach or enjoy a quiet moment with a good book at the holiday home.

On scenic Nord­fal­ster, close to the old market town of Stub­be­kø­bing, sits the quaint town of Kongsnæs. Here, your holiday awaits in calm sur­ro­un­dings with plenty of nature and beautiful landsca­pes. From here you can look over at Bogø and Møn, and in clear weather you can see several of the area’s charming small islands. The quiet waters that separate the islands create a cosy fjord-like en­viron­ment with calm waters, lovely beaches, bays and idyllic little nooks. There are great op­portu­ni­ties for walking and cycling around the scenic landscape, and you’ll find marked hiking trails to guide you around and reveal beautiful views.
