The old market town of Aakirkeby is located in the southern part of Bornholm, an ideal location for the island’s beaches. Aakirkeby offers hi­sto­ri­cal buildings, museums, and cultural at­tra­ctions. If you move towards the middle of the island, you will get to Al­min­din­gen, Denmark’s fifth-largest forest. Sandvig and Allinge have more or less grown into one, and each year the two coastal towns’ squares, wharfs, and pubs host the island’s jazz festival. The area around Hammeren, with clear lakes, dramatic rocky landsca­pes, and dizzying heights, is fantastic and full of adventure.

In Bukkemose, you can look forward to a range of unique nature and outdoor ex­pe­ri­en­ces. Bukkemose Strand is known for its low tides and fa­sci­nat­ing seabed making the beach an at­tra­ction for sea ent­hu­si­asts looking to go un­derwa­ter hunting. And if birds singing above are more your thing, you will find several bird towers in the area for you to explore Danish birdlife. Just 15 km south of Aarhus you will find Ajstrup Strand, a natural holiday area near water and natural sur­ro­un­dings. The fine sandy beach in the area is a haven for ho­li­day­ma­kers and locals every summer. Here you will find fine sand, clear water and safe swimming. For these reasons, the beach has been awarded Blue Flag-cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, which proudly sways in the wind. Close to the area is Norsminde Havn, an extremely charming marina where you can stroll along the pier, enjoy the sight of small fishing boats and visit one of the many cosy eateries. You can get from Ajstrup Strand to Odder in under 20 minutes by car.
