Off the east coast of Jutland you will find the islands of Tunø, Endelave and Hjarnø. Tunø and Endelave are known for their scenic sur­ro­un­dings with hiking trails that guide you through varied terrain with dense forests, open landsca­pes and coast­li­nes as far as the eye can see. Here you can explore the local plant and wildlife. Hjarnø is closer to the mainland and is a testament to the Viking Age, when the island was once home to the old Nordic seafarers. Kollerup features a beach rich in nature with open spaces and wide stretches of sand. Being car-free, the beach is something unique and the nature is pristine. This is why Kollerup Strand is a perfect haven for those longing for tranqui­li­ty and con­tem­p­la­tion at the sea, up close and personal with the rugged nature. Here the only thing dis­tur­bing your thoughts is the sound of lapping waves. The beach also attracts recre­a­tio­nal fishermen as it offers ample op­portu­ni­ties to hook the catch of the day directly from the beach. 6 ki­lo­metres south of Kollerup, you will find Fjer­rits­lev, a charming trade town with shops, re­stau­rants and cafés.

Horne Som­mer­land is a popular summer land area on Southern Funen. The region is sur­ro­un­ded by beautiful green nature with open co­un­trysi­de and idyllic coast­li­nes. Around these parts, you will have a range of outdoor acti­vi­ties right at your fin­ger­tips. Among other things, coastal hiking trails, bicycle tracks for you to explore the local wildlife and flora that are par­ti­cu­lar­ly cha­ra­cte­ri­stic of the sur­ro­un­ding on Southern Funen. The region is also at­tra­cting anglers as both sailing and angling are extremely popular acti­vi­ties around these parts. Near the summer land area, you will also find the port town of Bøjden and from here, you can reach Als directly by ferry.
