Spend your holiday home break in the old town of Præstø, and ex­pe­ri­en­ce nature, culture and history all in one place. The city boasts cobbled streets and coloured houses with an idyllic location over­look­ing the Præstø Fjord. In the harbour, you will find an authentic maritime at­mosp­he­re as you stroll along the pier. In the summer, the city trans­forms itself with markets, music and art festivals, but there is plenty of life and acti­vi­ties all year round. Bjerge Beach is a holiday home area on the west coast of Zealand with views of the Great Belt. The area is known for its two beaches, which are extremely popular and a gathering point for locals and ho­li­day­ma­kers. Col­loqui­al­ly, the beaches are known as the South and North Beaches and both offer plenty of water play, sun­bat­hing and water sports. The area around Bjerge Beach is also rich in nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces. For example, just 10 km away you will find Denmark’s fourth largest lake, Tissø. Sur­ro­un­ded by protected nature, the lake draws several different species of birds. Visit the ob­ser­va­tion tower near the lake and ex­pe­ri­en­ce birdlife up close.

On the southern part of Ærø, you will find the small village of Dunkær. Here you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce quiet nature and real rural bliss. The small winding roads are lined by homely cottages side by side, adorning the co­un­trysi­de. And in the town, you will also find Dunkær Mill that bear witness to the history of the village and the active agri­cul­tu­re of former times. Just 4 km from the village, you have Risemark Strand on the southern coast of Ærø for you to enjoy a sandy beach and lapping waves. The beach is extremely child-friendly with its shallow water and it should be noted that the beach has a de­sig­na­ted area for naturists.
