Despite its small size of just 6.84 km2, the island offers stunning nature and a rich wildlife. You can go for long walks – in fact, you can walk all the way around the island – and enjoy the tranquil­li­ty of the green sur­ro­un­dings. Only the sound of waves can interrupt your thoughts. The island holds in­te­r­e­sting tales, including its role in the English Wars from 1807 to 1814. Explore the island’s historic landmarks and see its many monuments and memorials.

Spend your holiday in the tranquil forest with the chirping of songbirds and the scent of conifers. Enjoy walks in Asserbo Plan­ta­tion, where the trees stand tall and proud and create an amazing at­mosp­he­re. Here you will also find heaths and areas covered in heather, and many good hiking and cycling paths that weave their way through this varied landscape. At the end of the plan­ta­tion, where the forest thins and the dunes begin, you will find the lovely Liseleje Beach. This part of the beach is secluded and peaceful. The town of Liseleje is also a stone’s throw away, with cosy eateries, shops and urban life.
