On Eastern Funen, you will find the old, charming market town of Nyborg. Nyborg oozes ancient history with its im­pres­si­ve medieval castle, Nyborg Castle, which was establis­hed back in the 13th century. The castle adorns the townscape and is the backdrop for several social events taking place in the town, espe­ci­al­ly in the summer. Here you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the Medieval Festival and a wide range of musicals and theatre per­for­man­ces, among other things. Near the town centre, you will find Nyborg Strand, a popular beach with fine sand and clear water. The beach is a true at­tra­ction for the locals and ho­li­day­ma­kers alike.

The scenic sur­ro­un­dings of Ring­kø­bing Fjord create a par­ti­cu­lar­ly lively at­mosp­he­re, which is perfect for an en­chan­ting stay in a holiday home by the water. Along the fjord, you will find beautiful hiking and cycling routes, cosy re­stau­rants for lunch al fresco, and lots of little rocky coves where you can go fishing. The fjord is also ideal for surfing, sailing or trying out other types of water sports. For the youngest family members, there are several fun and safe play­gro­unds to enjoy and explore. On the north coast, the landscape is dramatic, and the views are bre­ath­taking—Allinge is no exception. The town borders the fa­sci­nat­ing area around Hammeren, offering some of Denmark’s most specta­cu­lar natural en­viron­ments. Allinge harbour is a gathering point with a great at­mosp­he­re offering cafés, ice cream shops, eateries, and shops. The town is cha­ra­cte­ri­sed by half-timbered houses in every colour, narrow streets, and cosy squares. You can explore small, cosy oases. Allinge also offers art and culture in various forms and is home to venues, creative workshops, and the annual jazz festival.
