Ertebølle

Ertebølle is known for its historical significance and breathtaking nature. The area offers a fascinating look at the history of hunter-gatherers during the Stone Age. Visit the impressive Stone Age Centre Ertebølle where you can immerse yourself into the lives of ancient Stone Age people, who lived 7,000 years ago, through interactive experiences such as hunting, sailing and flintknapping for Ertebølle Hoved, a unique cliff with layers of volcanic ash, is a testament to the distinctive geological features of the area. The cliff offers excellent opportunities to find fossils and understand why this place is so special that it has become a candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Tunø

Off the east coast of Jutland you will find the islands of Tunø, Endelave and Hjarnø. Tunø and Endelave are known for their scenic surroundings with hiking trails that guide you through varied terrain with dense forests, open landscapes and coastlines as far as the eye can see. Here you can explore the local plant and wildlife. Hjarnø is closer to the mainland and is a testament to the Viking Age, when the island was once home to the old Nordic seafarers. On these islands, you can experience a true island vibe with lovely beaches, sea views from all sides and - not least - a welcoming community.

Nykøbing Sj.

Nykøbing Sjælland, the charming market town on the coast of Odsherred, offers a wonderful mix of cultural activities and nature experiences. Nykøbing Sjælland is known for its wealth of shopping options with lots of locally produced specialties and cosy cafés that make the city ideal for an excursion while on holiday. For the adventurous, a boat trip with the boat “Marianne F” is a must, and otherwise there is ample opportunity to rent bikes and explore the surroundings. The city’s public swimming pool and cinema provide entertainment regardless of the weather, and the lively pedestrian street is perfect for shopping and relaxation during and in between the high seasons.

Ærøskøbing

Ærøskøbing is known as the pearl of Ærø and it is one of the best preserved market towns in Denmark. The winding streets, colourful houses and fine history of the town attract visitors from near and far. As you walk around the cobbled streets in the town, you will quickly find yourself back in time. Here you can enjoy the sights and be fascinated by the many old and well-preserved buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. In the town, you can visit local shops, take part in artisan markets and take a well-deserved break in one of several homely cafés, maybe sampling local delicacies.
