In Ommel, you will im­me­di­a­te­ly get a sense of the charm and tranqui­li­ty of island life. The gathering point for local residents and ho­li­day­ma­kers in the area is un­doub­ted­ly Ommel Harbour; from here you can enjoy looking at the boats bobbing gently in the water. On one of the most beautiful coasts in Denmark, north of Mid­del­fart, you will find the summer land area of Vejlby Fed. Near Vejlby Fed, you have some of the best beaches in the area – ideal for sun­bat­hing, splashing around and water sports. The nature in the area is something quite unique, with its steep sho­re­li­nes, dense beech forests and open coves. These sur­ro­un­dings are an in­vi­ta­tion to long walks, expl­ora­tion on a bicycle as well as relaxing and tranquil fishing. From Vejlby Fed, you can drive to Mid­del­fart in under 20 minutes. Go on an excursion to the historic town, featuring old well-preserved buildings, local shops, art galleries and a number of cafés and eateries.

A stone’s throw from Denmark’s sout­her­n­most point sits Gedesby, which offers authentic village vibes and idyllic scenery. In and around the town you will find beautiful old houses, thatched farm­hou­ses and cosy green landsca­pes. The church, which dates back to the 1300s, is nestled in the centre of the town sur­ro­un­ded by the quaint main street and beautiful old mill. The area plays an important role in Denmark’s history so there is a lot of local folklore and tales to explore. The nature here is fantastic, with plan­ta­tions, hiking trails and forests – and not least Gedesby Beach, which stretches as far as the eye can see.
