Strandet by the Limfjord is a beautiful holiday home area, ideal for nature and fishing ent­hu­si­asts. A stone’s throw from Denmark’s sout­her­n­most point sits Gedesby, which offers authentic village vibes and idyllic scenery. In and around the town you will find beautiful old houses, thatched farm­hou­ses and cosy green landsca­pes. The church, which dates back to the 1300s, is nestled in the centre of the town sur­ro­un­ded by the quaint main street and beautiful old mill. The area plays an important role in Denmark’s history so there is a lot of local folklore and tales to explore. The nature here is fantastic, with plan­ta­tions, hiking trails and forests – and not least Gedesby Beach, which stretches as far as the eye can see.

On the northern coast of Djursland you will find the holiday town of Fjellerup Strand. Here you can enjoy life by the wide, child-friendly coastline with fine-grained sand and shallow waters. These sur­ro­un­dings are perfect for sun­bat­hing, play and re­laxa­tion. Near the small holiday town you will find Meilgaard Gods, which is among Denmark’s oldest manor houses. Admire the stunning old castle building and visit the adjacent castle park. The estate is sur­ro­un­ded by dense forest - Meilgaard Skov - where you can go hiking and biking and explore the natural sur­ro­un­dings. From Fjellerup Strand you have only 20 minutes by car to Djurs Som­mer­land amusement park.

Just a stone’s throw from Løkken, you will find Furreby and from here, you have the most beautiful views of the roaring waves and dune landsca­pes of the North Sea. If you are a history buff, this is the place to explore in order to learn more about the World War II. Along the coast, you can find a number of overgrown bunkers that bear witness to the hi­sto­ri­cal past of the area. And if adventure and the need for speed are more your thing, you can also jump in the water with a surf- or pad­dle­bo­ard. The area is also perfect for cycling and hiking trips in the sur­ro­un­ding co­un­trysi­de where you can get up close and personal with the beautiful green nature.
