Aakirkeby

The old market town of Aakirkeby is located in the southern part of Bornholm, an ideal location for the island’s beaches. Here, you will find stunning Dueodde with its white, sandy beaches winding as far as the eye can see, but Balka Beach and Boderne also rank among Bornholm’s best beaches. Aakirkeby offers hi­sto­ri­cal buildings, museums, and cultural at­tra­ctions. If you move towards the middle of the island, you will get to Al­min­din­gen, Denmark’s fifth-largest forest. Spend several hours exploring the terrain and the hi­sto­ri­cal and cultural sights here, such as Ryt­ter­k­næg­ten and Ekkodalen.

Tranekær

Centrally located on Langeland, you will find the charming village Tranekær – a place with a lot of history. Tranekær is espe­ci­al­ly famous for Tranekær Castle and the castle park, TICKON – Tranekær In­ter­na­tio­nal Centre for Art and Nature where you can see works of art build from organic materials. The castle park is worth a visit re­gard­less the time of year. The charming village is sur­ro­un­ded by forests and coast­li­nes, the perfect in­vi­ta­tion to go cycling and hiking. Here you can explore the wildlife and flora of the area. While out, you may come across Tranekær Castle Mill that bear witness to the rich history of the area and the agri­cul­tu­ral tra­di­tions of Langeland.

Kollerup Klit

Kollerup features a beach rich in nature with open spaces and wide stretches of sand. Being car-free, the beach is something unique and the nature is pristine. This is why Kollerup Strand is a perfect haven for those longing for tranqui­li­ty and con­tem­p­la­tion at the sea, up close and personal with the rugged nature. Here the only thing dis­tur­bing your thoughts is the sound of lapping waves. The beach also attracts recre­a­tio­nal fishermen as it offers ample op­portu­ni­ties to hook the catch of the day directly from the beach. 6 ki­lo­metres south of Kollerup, you will find Fjer­rits­lev, a charming trade town with shops, re­stau­rants and cafés.
