Near Mid­del­fart, you have the small village of Føns. The locals know Føns as the natural gem of western Funen. And not unju­sti­fied. With Kattegat on one side and Skagerrak on the other, you can enjoy the calm waters of Kattegat on the beach one day while the next day, you can go on adventure in the large waves of the North Sea. A stone’s throw north of Hvide Sande you will find Nr. Lyngvig, a scenic area that embodies Danish idyll. Here you can do things at your own pace and live one day at a time. You will find many good hiking and cycling routes that take you through dune landsca­pes, over heaths, out onto meadows and along beaches. There is also ample op­portu­ni­ty to fish without being disurbed along the banks of the fjord, or you can bring your picnic basket and find a cosy spot in the dunes. Enjoying the mag­ni­fi­cent view of the majestic ligh­t­hou­se that rises tall and proud above the flat landscape is a must.
