Havnsø is a seaport on Northwest Zealand. Here you can enjoy life on the beach, which, with its low water, is perfect for water play for people of all ages. Just under 5 km from Havnsø you will find the protected natural area of Eskebjerg Ve­ster­lyng. Known as Zealand’s largest heath, the natural area offers rolling landsca­pes with beaches, dunes and shrubs – and, with any luck, you might also see free-range cattle and horses. From Havnsø you can also enjoy the view of Nekselø Bay, and if you look carefully, you can see Nekselø and Sejerø in the distance. Both islands can be reached by ferry from Havnsø.

Strandet by the Limfjord is a beautiful holiday home area, ideal for nature and fishing ent­hu­si­asts. In addition to fishing in the fjord or in the sur­ro­un­ding put and take lakes, the area offers plenty of holiday and nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces. Pay a visit to Mønsted Kal­k­gru­ber, Northern Europe’s largest man-made limestone mine, for a truly unique ex­pe­ri­en­ce, as well as Jesperhus Feriepark amusement park, which always offers fun family acti­vi­ties, while the historic Spøttrup Bourg provides an insight into medieval Denmark. Strandet is the perfect starting point for those looking to combine re­laxa­tion by the water with exciting holiday excur­sions.

The area is divided into Langdal, Søn­der­strand and Landsende and offers lush and rich nature with plan­ta­tions, forests, heathers and dunes. A stone’s throw from here you will find Søn­der­stran­den, one of Rømø’s gems with its wide, desert-like sand surface that invites you to spend wonderful days by the water. Try, for example, beach sailing, kite buggying or hop on a surfboard. The beach is also perfect for relaxing walks, where you can enjoy the mag­ni­fi­cent view and maybe even spot seals on the coast. Finally, dive into the area’s art scene and visit some of the small galleries and workshops.
