Tårup Strand is a summer land area on the eastern coast of Funen, sur­ro­un­ded by a hillscape and over­look­ing the clear water of the Great Belt. You will see that the beach in the area changes character the further up the coast you go. The first part of the beach consists of a stone bed and it has a bathing jetty while 1 km further up the coast, you are met by a fine sandy beach offering the op­portu­ni­ty to play in the water and sunbathe. On the northern tip of Langeland, you will find Hou. Hou is an extremely quiet area and here you are away from the hectic working day and can just sit back and enjoy the chirping of birds and the roar of the waves. With its coastline and luxuriant nature, Hou is the ideal holiday desti­na­tion for those looking for nature outings and expl­ora­tions. Here you can take long walks or jump on a bike and enjoy the fresh air. If you are in­te­r­e­sted in history, please visit Hou Ligh­t­hou­se, a true landmark of the area, as it played an important role in ship navi­ga­tion around the northern tip of the island back in the late 1800s.
