The Great Belt Coast has one of Denmark’s most beautiful coast­li­nes. From north to south, you will find lovely beaches with fine sandy seafloors and clear water. There are no large waves or un­dercur­rents, making it safe for even the youngest ho­li­day­ma­kers to play by the water under su­per­vi­sion. The area attracts many water sports ent­hu­si­asts, as there is ample op­portu­ni­ty to explore on the water. Along the coast you will find several hiking trails where you can enjoy the views and the fresh sea breeze. Centrally located on Langeland, you will find the charming village Tranekær – a place with a lot of history. Tranekær is espe­ci­al­ly famous for Tranekær Castle and the castle park, TICKON – Tranekær In­ter­na­tio­nal Centre for Art and Nature where you can see works of art build from organic materials. The castle park is worth a visit re­gard­less the time of year. The charming village is sur­ro­un­ded by forests and coast­li­nes, the perfect in­vi­ta­tion to go cycling and hiking. Here you can explore the wildlife and flora of the area. While out, you may come across Tranekær Castle Mill that bear witness to the rich history of the area and the agri­cul­tu­ral tra­di­tions of Langeland.

Rørvig is a true holiday paradise in Odsherred, known for its idyllic, sandy beaches and mag­ni­fi­cent nature. Visit the cosy harbour, where you can enjoy fresh and smoked fish or sail across to Hundested. Here you can let the young ones catch crab while the adults enjoy an ice cream. In Rørvig, you can go on lovely hikes around Korshage, where you will see migratory birds or ex­pe­ri­en­ce the heath in full bloom. The coastline is perfect for fishing and offers protected places like Skan­se­bug­ten for windsur­fing and kayaking. You can also explore Højsandet and Sand­flugts­plan­ta­gen, or collect mushrooms and wild garlic in the local forests.
