Beautiful Sandvig is located on the northern coast of Bornholm—a perfect oasis for a summer break in a holiday home. Visit the town’s small, cosy harbour, the beautiful promenade along the water, and the charming urban setting. Sandvig and Allinge have more or less grown into one, and each year the two coastal towns’ squares, wharfs, and pubs host the island’s jazz festival. The area also offers hi­sto­ri­cal at­tra­ctions, including Ham­mers­hus, which is close by. The area around Hammeren, with clear lakes, dramatic rocky landsca­pes, and dizzying heights, is fantastic and full of adventure.

You can play golf in stunning scenery, ex­pe­ri­en­ce nature on horseback or glide through the landscape in a canoe or kayak. In the southern part of Rømø, you will find Havneby, a holiday paradise sur­ro­un­ded by mag­ni­fi­cent nature. Here you can go sailing on the Wadden Sea or explore the coastal areas on foot, horseback or by bike. There are plenty of lovely trails and routes to explore the fa­sci­nat­ing terrain and enjoy beautiful views. The harbour is a testament to proud fishing tra­di­tions, and here you will see im­pres­si­ve boats swaying and waiting for the next departure. You can also grab a bite to eat at the inn or one of the other eateries to get an authentic taste of Rømø – for example, after a game of tennis or an afternoon of golf.

A stone’s throw north of Hvide Sande you will find Nr. Lyngvig, a scenic area that embodies Danish idyll. Here you can do things at your own pace and live one day at a time. You will find many good hiking and cycling routes that take you through dune landsca­pes, over heaths, out onto meadows and along beaches. There is also ample op­portu­ni­ty to fish without being disurbed along the banks of the fjord, or you can bring your picnic basket and find a cosy spot in the dunes. Enjoying the mag­ni­fi­cent view of the majestic ligh­t­hou­se that rises tall and proud above the flat landscape is a must.
