Agersø is an island in the Great Belt just 15 minutes by boat from Stigsnæs Harbour located on southwest Zealand. Despite its small size of just 6.84 km2, the island offers stunning nature and a rich wildlife. You can go for long walks – in fact, you can walk all the way around the island – and enjoy the tranquil­li­ty of the green sur­ro­un­dings. Only the sound of waves can interrupt your thoughts. The island holds in­te­r­e­sting tales, including its role in the English Wars from 1807 to 1814. Explore the island’s historic landmarks and see its many monuments and memorials.

Centrally located on Langeland, you will find the charming village Tranekær – a place with a lot of history. Tranekær is espe­ci­al­ly famous for Tranekær Castle and the castle park, TICKON – Tranekær In­ter­na­tio­nal Centre for Art and Nature where you can see works of art build from organic materials. The castle park is worth a visit re­gard­less the time of year. The charming village is sur­ro­un­ded by forests and coast­li­nes, the perfect in­vi­ta­tion to go cycling and hiking. Here you can explore the wildlife and flora of the area. While out, you may come across Tranekær Castle Mill that bear witness to the rich history of the area and the agri­cul­tu­ral tra­di­tions of Langeland.

You will find water no matter where you look, as well as child-friendly sandy beaches and wonderful holiday homes where you can relax with the family. Southern Als offers plenty of scenic nature areas. You can visit the Kegnæs peninsula, which is connected to Als via a spit of land. In summer, you can enjoy the view from the top of Kegnæs Ligh­t­hou­se (Kegnæs Fyr) – and if the weather is clear, you can see all the way to Germany and the South Funen ar­chipela­go.
