On the northern tip of Langeland, you will find Hou. On the east-facing side of Rømø is cosy Lakolk, which is the oldest holiday home area on the island. Here you will find an at­mosp­he­ric urban en­viron­ment with cafes, shops, galleries and much more. Settle down in one of the eateries for a taste of Rømø or visit one of the specialty shops where you can buy local de­li­ca­cies. Lakolk is located close to Rømø Bilstrand, where you can take the car all the way down to the water's edge. This way, you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the entire mile-long coastline, in­cre­dib­le plains and beautiful views. Finally, the area is ideal for biking – and hiking, or you can explore it on horseback or surfboard.

The area is divided into Langdal, Søn­der­strand and Landsende and offers lush and rich nature with plan­ta­tions, forests, heathers and dunes. A stone’s throw from here you will find Søn­der­stran­den, one of Rømø’s gems with its wide, desert-like sand surface that invites you to spend wonderful days by the water. Try, for example, beach sailing, kite buggying or hop on a surfboard. The beach is also perfect for relaxing walks, where you can enjoy the mag­ni­fi­cent view and maybe even spot seals on the coast. Finally, dive into the area’s art scene and visit some of the small galleries and workshops.
