Off the east coast of Jutland you will find the islands of Tunø, Endelave and Hjarnø. Tunø and Endelave are known for their scenic sur­ro­un­dings with hiking trails that guide you through varied terrain with dense forests, open landsca­pes and coast­li­nes as far as the eye can see. Here you can explore the local plant and wildlife. Hjarnø is closer to the mainland and is a testament to the Viking Age, when the island was once home to the old Nordic seafarers. Svendborg is known as the most beautiful market town of Southern Funen. Ori­gi­nal­ly an old seafaring town, it offers a really special maritime at­mosp­he­re with seaviews and a harbour en­viron­ment buzzing with life. The old seafaring town oozes historic charm. You ex­pe­ri­en­ce the history of Southern Funen up close by paying the Latin Quarter, the oldest part of Svendborg, a visit. In the Latin Quarter, you can visit an abundance of stores and small local shops and sample local de­li­ca­cies in the re­stau­rants and cafés of the area. Svendborg town centre is also the hub of various musical events all year round, creating life in the streets to a degree.

Melby offers pi­c­tu­resque landsca­pes that are perfect to explore on foot or by bike. Also make sure to visit Melby Overdrev, which with its open heaths, purple heather fields and in­cre­dib­le expanses offers lots of ad­ven­tu­res and hours of fun. Liseleje Beach is also just a stone’s throw away, and this part of the beach is won­der­ful­ly peaceful. Here you can spend hours swimming in the quiet waters, playing games on the beach, reading good books and enjoying beautiful sunsets. You can also head into the town of Liseleje, where you will find cosy eateries, ice cream stalls, shops and so much more.
