Amstrup and Sondrup are two holiday home areas in East Jutland with views of Horsens Fjord. Here you will find natural sur­ro­un­dings with stunning landsca­pes and areas with rolling hills and forests. For example, explore Uldrup Bakker, where several winding trails in the hilly landscape guide your way. From both holiday home areas you are a short distance from Sondrup Strand, a small oasis by Horsens Fjord. The beach has a jetty from which you can go for a dip in the lovely water. You will find that the beach is somewhat hidden, so you can enjoy life com­ple­te­ly un­dis­tur­bed, without all the crowds and noise.

In the heart of Thy National Park, you will find the charming fishing village of Vorupør. The fishing village offers culture, history and scenic beauty all at once. The wide beaches of Vorupør and the clear North Sea water is an in­vi­ta­tion to water play and re­laxa­tion while the surfers can go up against the wild, roaring waves. Vorupør is proud of its old fishing tradition. Stop by Vorupør Harbour to ex­pe­ri­en­ce how day-to-day life unfolds with the cha­ra­cte­ri­stic blue boats in the ba­ck­gro­und. Here you can buy freshly caught fish directly from the quay or enjoy the fresh treasures from the sea in different eateries around the area.

Havnsø is a seaport on Northwest Zealand. Here you can enjoy life on the beach, which, with its low water, is perfect for water play for people of all ages. Just under 5 km from Havnsø you will find the protected natural area of Eskebjerg Ve­ster­lyng. Known as Zealand’s largest heath, the natural area offers rolling landsca­pes with beaches, dunes and shrubs – and, with any luck, you might also see free-range cattle and horses. From Havnsø you can also enjoy the view of Nekselø Bay, and if you look carefully, you can see Nekselø and Sejerø in the distance. Both islands can be reached by ferry from Havnsø.

You can also sail or row in the fjord or find a peaceful spot for a picnic lunch. Here you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce wild and lush nature, pi­c­tu­resque landsca­pes and specta­cu­lar views. Kikhavn offers an idyllic Danish village at­mosp­he­re, and with its thatched half-timbered houses and fisherman’s huts, it is the perfect setting for a holiday home break. Here, the coast rises dra­ma­ti­cal­ly above the water level. On the outer tip is Spod­s­b­jerg Ligh­t­hou­se, and just below is Knud Rasmussen’s house, which is now a museum. The alluring area and nature continue to attract artists and creative souls.
