Virksund by the Limfjord is full of charm with its maritime history and scenic sur­ro­un­dings. In Ommel, you will im­me­di­a­te­ly get a sense of the charm and tranqui­li­ty of island life. The gathering point for local residents and ho­li­day­ma­kers in the area is un­doub­ted­ly Ommel Harbour; from here you can enjoy looking at the boats bobbing gently in the water. In con­ti­nu­a­tion of the harbour, you will find the most wonderful sandy beach, a small tranquil gem in the middle of it all. The beach is a draw to the locals in the area so you will also quickly get the sense of being a part of the local en­viron­ment, far away from the typical turist at­tra­ctions. In Ommel, you can go for walks along the water, enjoy the fresh sea breeze and the beautiful views of the Baltic Sea.

Tårup Strand is a summer land area on the eastern coast of Funen, sur­ro­un­ded by a hillscape and over­look­ing the clear water of the Great Belt. Here you can take walks along the coast, enjoy the views and the fresh sea air and – if you are lucky – spot ships om their journey through the Great Belt. You will see that the beach in the area changes character the further up the coast you go. The first part of the beach consists of a stone bed and it has a bathing jetty while 1 km further up the coast, you are met by a fine sandy beach offering the op­portu­ni­ty to play in the water and sunbathe. Take a long swim in the blue sea or laze in the sun all day long. The choice is yours.
