The winter beach

Not just during the summer
The beach and the coast areas also have plenty to offer when the summer is over. It is incredibly relaxing to take a walk along the beach, where you can look out into the distance and let your min wander. The air is clean and fresh, and it is nice to breathe in deep. And it is really wonderful to return to the holiday home after a walk like this and have a warm cup of coffee or cocoa.

Amber on the beach
Autumn and winter are the best seasons for collecting amber. When the autumn storms have passed, you can often find the nuggets of amber entangled in seaweed along the water’s edge, but you have to get out early and have a keen eye. Because often the nugget of amber turns out to be a stone or a piece of glass. You can find out whether your find is really amber by putting a heated needle into the nugget – amber gives off an unmistakable smell of resin.
